Questa e' la solita stupidata giornalistica. L'Arsenal e' fuori dalle Coppe ed ecco rispuntare che Henry sarebbe deluso (ma de che?) e che sarebbe tentato di vincere in club piu' "vincenti". Ora, leggendo i giornali, chi sarebbero questi club? Inter, Barcellona e Real Madrid. Gia', sono i tre club che si contenderanno la CL, la Supercoppa e l'Intercontinentale. Come? sto sbagliando? Cioe'? Ma veramente? SOno state gia' tutte eliminate? ahahhah... a furia di legger ei giornali manco mi ero accorto della cosa! Mi volete dire che non hanno nessuna possibilita'? Ok. Ne prendo atto. ;-)
A tale proposito vi copio e incollo un articolo compraso oggi sulla stampa inglese firmato da Steven Howard, uan delle firme piu' autorevoli sportive in UK.
"stranamente" dice cosa che io dico da alcuni giorni. Forse farebbero bene anche altri "pseudo" esperti sportivi a seguirne alcune considerazioni. Forse l'uncia cosa che non concordo e' quando si parla di Pires. Cioe' che sarebbe stato meglio fargli un contratto di due anni. Non concordo perche' "le regole sono regole" e perche' tanto Pires non gioca per un brutto infortunio da Agosto (!), di conseguenza non sarebbe stato disponibile neppure lui.

ARSENAL out of Europe, Thierry Henry out of Arsenal.
It is a knee-jerk reaction that does not have too much logic to it.
Despite the rumours some at Arsenal think it may be time to cash in the chips.
Whether this includes Arsene Wenger remains to be seen. Somehow you doubt it.
Yes, the umbilical cord between the two has been stretched this season — never more than when Henry’s five-week ‘sabbatical’ was prefaced by his omission from the side that thumped Spurs 3-0 at the Emirates early in December.
Henry was not happy. Wenger, in turn, was far from impressed when his captain advised buying Shaun Wright-Phillips.
But even the closest relationships have their ups and downs.
I have a lot of sympathy for Henry, though no one doubts that he can be a pretty quirky individual.
He takes everything so seriously, so personally. This is not necessarily a bad thing, as long as it does not lead to introspection and a loss of joie de vivre.
At the same time, it was only a matter of time — he is now 29 — before Henry’s body rebelled at the workload placed on it.
Especially after an 11-month season in which he reached both the World Cup and Champions League finals.
The fact he lost in both was not conducive to mental and physical harmony.
In all, Henry has scored 226 goals in 337 games for his club. More importantly, he has more or less carried Arsenal in the three seasons preceding this one. In that spell, he scored 113 goals in 168 games for club and country.
Broken down, that translates into 38 in 56, 31 in 49 and 44 in 63. It is a phenomenal record.
In that period, Freddie Ljungberg (26), Jose Reyes (18), Robin van Persie (17) and Dennis Bergkamp (16) contributed just 77 goals between them.
In those three seasons, his closest ally — both on the pitch and off — was Robert Pires, who came up with 47 goals.
Many will claim Wenger’s biggest mistake was to refuse the accomplished Pires a new two-year contract. It seems a particularly rash decision, seeing the Arsenal manager also lost Bergkamp, Sol Campbell, Ashley Cole and Lauren.
That left just two experienced outfield players, Henry and Gilberto Silva, to help bring on the kids. How Arsenal could have done with Pires and his keen footballing brain over the last 11 calamitous days.
Arsenal have not been helped by injuries, either. Jose Mourinho bemoans his lot, while Alex Ferguson will shortly discover how thin his squad is at the sharp end of the campaign.
Yet Arsenal have struggled all season. Henry has made just 16 Premiership starts, William Gallas 11, Tomas Rosicky 17, Ljungberg 10 and Van Persie 17.
Van Persie’s absence has been the most costly of all. The Dutchman, with 11 goals, was finally emerging as Bergkamp’s heir apparent.
At the same time, Arsenal have not helped themselves. The old eye-of-the-needle football has again been undermined by appalling finishing — especially from midfield.
Ljungberg, Rosicky, Cesc Fabregas and Alex Hleb, believe it or not, have managed three league goals between them all season.
Julio Baptista, an over-rated player despite his Carling Cup exploits, has scored just once in the Premiership, while Emmanuel Adebayor, for all his skill and promise, will never be the fox-in-the-box Henry has always wanted.
Throw in Henry’s own problems and a barren season is hardly surprising.
Yes, there are some outstanding youngsters but Wenger has to ensure this talent is turned into trophies. And quickly.
Mourinho claimed a few weeks ago that he was not in the same fortunate position as Wenger. That Chelsea expected silverware every season. That he could not take a year or two out. It was a point well made.
I believe Henry will return refreshed and fit, after a month or so on the beach, to be the force of old once again.
But he cannot do it all on his own. It is up to the rest of the squad to play their part.

Che dire... che il problema siano i goal che non arrivano dai centrocampisti lo sostengo da un paio di anni (da quando Pires e Ljungberg sono invecchiati) e l'ultimo Pires ci sarebbe servito a ben poco. Con questa squadra creiamo tantissime occasioni ma concludiamo troppo poco, c'è bisogno di Henry e Van Persie e c'è bisogno che anche gli altri contribuiscano. Fabregas è giovane e deve migliorare, uno come lui non può segnare così poco ed il piatto finito di poco fuori contro il PSV poteva darci il 2-0. Non gliene sto facendo una colpa ma anzi dico che a 19 anni non si può essere perfetti, è già fra i migliori ma sono convinto che migliorerà ancora ed eleverà il livello dell'Arsenal... poi magari se Rosicky riuscisse a giocare di più ed a prendere confidenza ecco che arriverebbero altri goal. E sul mercato si può sempre cercare qualcosa... ma la base su cui lavorare è di ottimo livello e sono fiducioso per il futuro tanto quanto ora sono dispiaciuto che siamo fuori da tutto.

Un peccato che anche Times e Guardian ultimamente si siano messi a seguire gli scoop lanciati dal Mirror. Questa volta la fonte era un sito web tedesco, la prossima volta le notizie le prenderanno da Cronaca Vera.
Ovviamente chi riporta queste notizie dovrebbe controllarne un minimo la credibilità ed eventualmente pubblicarne le smentite. Io a leggere l'articolo originale del Mirror mi sono fatto due risate, non credo che qualche giornalista sia riuscito davvero a dargli credibilià, o si è stupidi o si è in malafede. Non mi stupisco che poi tra i tifosi si leggano certe fesserie (copie incolla dal sito calciomercato.com scritto da tale el_dingo):
